no… not the kids..well, yes, they are growing…Josh is closing in on me.. BUT that isn’t want this post is about.
We had a wonderful weekend. I am awestruck by the love of the people in our church. One of the families that has been visiting off and on has fallen in to some very tough times. Our people have rallied around them, in a way I can only say is Christ like. Taking them back and forth to work, keeping her children until she gets off (at 1am might I add) helping out with meals and so on. Saturday we all marched over and threw in inprompt-to birthday party for the oldest son, Juan, who was turning 17. We had pizza and cake and just enjoyed the day. I can’t thank God enough for the heart of his people and the love they are showing for one another, we are truly a family.
Sunday we had our highest attendance yet at the church – since we have been there. We had 28 in Sunday School (adults, the kids were off in the other classes) and 45 in morning service (46 if you count the baby… ha ha) It was a great time of worship, and God moved. Sunday night we had 27. Again, a wonderful night.
God is moving and blessing in this work, we have tripled our size this year. God is indeed working. We are not stopping here, as we strive towards the mark, and his calling, we pray earnestly to see more hispanics come to the knowledge of Christ.
This weekend, the 22nd, we are having our Thanksgiving meal – as of Sunday night, we were told we can expect 60 or more. We are planning for 75. We cannot express thanks enough to God for what He is doing, we know it is none of us, and all of Him.
It’s exciting and I don’t think Tony has stopped smiling all weekend!!!
If you are in the area on Saturday, we’d love to have you stop in!!! 2134 Dup Gap Rd!!!
